Why the Assessment Matters.

A positive skills assessment is the gate condition for most skilled visa subclasses. Points-tested pathways such as 189, 190 and 491 all require a suitable outcome from the assessing authority relevant to your nominated occupation.

We prepare and review the full evidence bundle before submission. That includes qualification transcripts, employment references framed to authority guidelines, RPL project reports where required and any supplementary language evidence. The goal is a clean first submission and a shorter path to your EOI.

How we work

  • Eligibility check against ANZSCO occupation and pathway prerequisites
  • Evidence audit of academic and employment documents
  • Reference letter drafting to authority format and content standards
  • RPL report writing for ICT and technical occupations
  • Submission, follow-up and appeals handling where needed

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

Which assessing authority handles my occupation?

The correct body depends on the ANZSCO code and the visa subclass you are targeting. ACS covers ICT, VETASSESS handles most general and trade occupations, and specialist bodies such as AACA, AASW, AIMS and IPA cover architecture, social work, medical science and accounting respectively. We confirm the right authority before any evidence work begins.

How long does a skills assessment take?

Standard turnaround ranges from eight to twelve weeks. ACS is currently averaging six to ten weeks, VETASSESS twelve to sixteen weeks, and specialist bodies can be faster or slower depending on evidence quality. Priority processing is available at additional cost with several authorities.

What is an RPL report and when do I need one?

A Recognition of Prior Learning report is required by ACS when your ICT qualification is non-major or your experience is being used to bridge a knowledge gap. It documents two project case studies and maps them to the core ICT knowledge areas. We draft the report to ACS specifications.

How should employment reference letters be worded?

Each authority has its own format. In general, references must be on employer letterhead, list the exact position title, employment dates, hours and paid status, and describe duties in enough detail to match the ANZSCO unit group. We draft the wording and coordinate signing with your referees.

What happens if my assessment outcome is negative?

Most authorities offer a review or reconsideration within a fixed window. We analyse the assessor's reasoning, gather supplementary evidence and lodge the appeal. If a change of occupation is more efficient, we reassess your profile against alternative ANZSCO codes.

Do you also handle the visa application after the assessment?

Yes. Your assessment and visa file are held by the same MARA-registered case manager, so employment evidence framed for the authority is reused for the visa application without duplicate work.
