Moving to Australia for your studies is exciting, but choosing where you will live is just as important as choosing your course. Your accommodation shapes your daily routine, study experience, social life, comfort and budget.

Australia offers a range of options, including on-campus rooms, shared apartments, homestays and rentals, allowing you to choose what fits your lifestyle. With so many choices, it is easy to feel uncertain about which one is right.

Sky Consultants explains the real costs and helps you find a living arrangement that feels safe, convenient and appropriate. Whether you want a fully supported environment, a social setting or independent living, we help you land somewhere you feel comfortable.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

When should I start looking for accommodation?

Start as soon as your Confirmation of Enrolment is issued. On-campus and residential college spaces fill first, especially before the February and July intakes, so eight to twelve weeks of lead time is ideal.

What is included in a homestay arrangement?

Most homestays provide a furnished private or shared room, two meals a day, utility bills and internet. Homestay families are screened and matched by an approved provider. Cleaning of common areas is included, laundry usually is.

How much bond will I pay for a private rental?

Private and shared rentals typically require a bond of four to six weeks of rent, held with the state rental bond authority. First month's rent is paid in advance, and unfurnished properties may need an additional budget for basic furnishings.

Who does the accommodation service suit?

New international students arriving for their first semester and existing students moving between cities or shifting from on-campus to private rentals. Family arrivals can also be supported for two and three-bedroom rental searches.

Do I pay Sky Consultants for accommodation help?

Basic shortlisting and platform introductions are included for admission clients. Extended support such as inspections by proxy, family relocation and post-arrival dispute mediation is quoted separately before work begins.

Can you help resolve issues after I move in?

Yes. Common post-arrival issues such as bond disputes, unreasonable inspections, unresolved repairs and utility set-up are covered under the ongoing accommodation support scope where you booked through us.
