A Visitor Visa Without the Work Rights.

The Tourist visa (subclass 600) is a temporary visa for people who want to visit Australia for holiday, family or short-term non-work purposes. Grants commonly run for three, six or twelve months and can be single or multi-entry.

Applicants must show they are genuine visitors, hold sufficient funds and meet health and character rules. Work is not permitted, and study is capped at three months. Most decisions are made outside Australia, with a separate onshore stream for those extending a legal stay.

How we help

A Clear File, a Genuine Intent.

Tourist visa refusals almost always come down to two things: weak financial evidence or a genuine visitor case that has not been properly framed. We audit both before you lodge.

We prepare the itinerary, sponsor letters where relevant, funds evidence and health cover in a single indexed bundle, then lodge and track the case to decision.

Note

No Further Stay Conditions Matter.

Many Tourist visas are granted with a 8503 No Further Stay condition. If that applies to you, plan any future Australian visa outside the country and speak to us before lodging any onshore extension.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

Who is eligible for a Tourist visa subclass 600?

Anyone visiting Australia for a holiday, to see family or for a short non-work purpose can apply. Applicants must show genuine visitor intent, sufficient funds for the stay, adequate health insurance and meet standard health and character requirements.

How long does a subclass 600 visa take to be granted?

Standard offshore processing is typically 20 to 30 days, though the Department of Home Affairs quotes ranges up to several months for higher-scrutiny caseloads. Onshore tourist stream applications generally take longer.

How much does a Tourist visa cost?

The base government charge for the offshore Tourist stream starts at AUD 190 and for the onshore stream at AUD 365 at the time of writing. Sponsored family stream applications may require a security bond in addition to the base fee.

Can I include my family in a single application?

Each traveller usually needs their own subclass 600 application, though family groups can be lodged together and cross-linked. Sponsored family applications specifically require an Australian citizen or permanent-resident relative to sponsor each applicant.

Can I extend my stay while I am inside Australia?

Yes, provided your current visa does not carry a 8503 No Further Stay condition. If a 8503 applies, you must depart and reapply offshore. We assess extension options before your current visa expires.

Do I need a MARA-registered migration agent to apply?

You are not legally required to use an agent, but tourist refusals are commonly caused by weak funds evidence and unclear visitor intent. Engaging a MARA-registered migration agent gives you a properly framed evidence bundle and a clear response strategy if the Department raises questions.
